Nancy Josephson

Nancy Josephson has a long and varied musical pedigree. As a vocalist and bass player she did stints with the Buffalo Gals, David Bromberg Band, Arlo Guthrie, Peter Rowan and Fiddle Fever. Nancy was also a vocalist with the legendary Chicago Gospel Choir, The Annettes. After a long absence from the "official" music scene, she returns with both voice and attitude to anchor this extraordinary group.

Jen Schonwald

Jen Schonwald came to Angel Band as a veteran of the Phildelphia folk scene and as singer/guitarist with the popular group "Full Frontal Folk". A gritty and powerful singer, Jen had been performing since the age of twelve and Angel Band offered just the right situation to showcase her wonderfully unique talent.

Kathleen Weber

Our newest member, Kathleen Weber, was born into a musical family, where she developed a deep appreciation for all genres of music. Having participated in numerous choirs, bands and acoustic groups for over 20 years, Kathleen has developed vocal abilities that perfectly compliment Angel Band. She has performed with the likes of Moravian Women's choir, singer songwriter Steven Kelly of the Lehigh Valley, and most recently with Los Manatees of the Philadelphia area. The youngest member of the group brings a musical maturity that completes the rich harmonic texture that is the Angel Band trademark.

David Bromberg

(guitar, National Steel, Telecaster electric guitar, dobro) It seems only fitting that after more than thirty years of playing music, most of it providing accompaniment to others, that David Bromberg would once again be sitting in that familiar seat. David's contribution to the overall sound of Angel Band comes in the form of arranger and musical leader of the group. These days David continues to tour as the leader of the David Bromberg Quartet and the David Bromberg Band, but happily finds the time to be part of this wonderful project.

Bobby Tangrea

(mandolin, guitar) Bob is a native Philadelphian who, at an early age became smitten with the sweet sounds of traditional folk, bluegrass and early 50's music. Having done stints with the likes of The Greenbriar Boys, The Tanner Brothers Bluegrass Band (along with brother Joe), and Frank Stallone and Valentine, Bobby's vast musical vocabulary gives him a broad range of knowledge from which to draw. Bobby came to Angel Band through the Tuesday night jam at 4W5 Cafe in Wilmington. Having played music informally with David in the 70's the re-connection proved musically inspirational for all concerned. Bobby's ability on mandolin, guitar and fiddle (as well as his fabulous songwriting) provide a rich foundation for the band's big sound.

Nate Grower

(studio - fiddle) Nate Grower of Dover, Delaware began playing violin at age 15 in his native western New York. Although classically trained, he was influenced by and began playing Gospel Bluegrass. He has played and recorded with CrossPoint String Band, The Vellas and the Doerfel Family Bluegrass Band. Presently, Nate has expanded his musical genre and plays with Chester River Runoff, Pearl Creek, Backwoods Bluegrass Band and Johnny Duke and the Aces. He frequently "stands in" with many local bands and performs as a studio musician. He is currently working on his first solo cd.

Jeff Wisor

(road warrior - fiddle) Jeff Wisor is another player who has garnered a few awards along the way. He has won the state fiddle championship of New York and Maryland on more than one occasion and is a long time member of the David Bromberg Quartet and the Big Band. Jeff currently resides in Corning, New York.

Bob Taylor

(electric & acoustic bass) Bob was born in Snakespring Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania in 1954. He began learning to play on his Grandfather's old guitar around 1968. Out of necessity, as it is with most bassists, Bob learned the bass (it's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it) and began doing covers of The Byrds, John Prine and Bob Dylan, to name a few. It was in the early 70's that Bob discovered the Philly Folk Festival and began listening to the likes of David Bromberg. It was then that he realized that this genre was his true calling and began putting forth his talent in that direction. As luck would have it, he's now working with David in Angel Band.

Marc Moss

(Producer, engineer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist) With over 150 CD projects to his credit (including David's Grammy nominated CD "Try Me One More Time" and Angel Band's "Beautiful Noise" and most recent, "With Roots and Wings") Marc Moss, owner of Target Studios, is one of the most respected producer/engineers in the Mid-Atlantic region. Marc, known to Angel Band as the Fifth Beatle, works with the band as tech dude and front of house sound man.
