Angel Band is...
Nancy Josephson
(vocals)
Nancy Josephson has a long and varied musical pedigree. As a vocalist and bass player she did stints with the Buffalo Gals, David Bromberg Band, Arlo Guthrie, Peter Rowan and Fiddle Fever. Nancy was also a vocalist with the legendary Chicago Gospel Choir, The Annettes. After a long absence from the "official" music scene, she returns with both voice and attitude to anchor this extraordinary group.
Kathleen Weber
(vocals)
Kathleen Weber, was born into a musical family, where she developed a deep appreciation for all genres of music. Having participated in numerous choirs, bands and acoustic groups for over 20 years, Kathleen has developed vocal abilities that perfectly compliment Angel Band. She has performed with the likes of Moravian Women's choir, singer songwriter Steven Kelly of the Lehigh Valley, and most recently with Los Manatees of the Philadelphia area. The youngest member of the group brings a musical maturity that completes the rich harmonic texture that is the Angel Band trademark.
Aly Paige
(vocals)
Alison "AlyCat" Paige grew up in Wilmington, Delaware where she was surrounded by a family of musicians and artists. Aly began professional theatre at the age of 5. She later discovered that singing was her true passion and began performing with live bands at venues and festivals all over the tri-state area. At one performance, Aly picked up a bass and fell in love with the instrument. She went on to receive a degree in vocal performance from the University of Delaware, while studying the bass on her own. Throughout her life, Aly has been writing and recording her original music. She has played her music for audiences up and down the east and west coasts in a few different bands including BrotherSister and also the AlyCat Band. Aly has enjoyed recording and sharing the stage with national acts such as Rusted Root, G. Love and the Special Sauce, The Spin Doctors, Kenny Rogers, Donald Byrd, Schleigo, Townhall, George Stanford, David Bromberg and many, many more. Since March ’09 Aly has become proud member of Angel Band.
Marc Moss
(drums, guitar, mandolin, accordion)
Marc Moss (previously the "5th Beatle") has stepped from behind the sound board to join Angel Band on stage. Previously Marc was our "go to" guy when we needed any recording help (including co-producing our first CD). He brings a broad range of new, interesting and totally cool musical ideas to our table. Look for drums, guitar, mandolin and accordion to be put to good use. Additionally, Marc is Nancy’s writing partner and is the proud shareholder in the "Wilmington Hit Factory" sound.
Bob Taylor
(electric & acoustic bass)
Bob was born in Snakespring Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania in 1954. He began learning to play on his Grandfather's old guitar around 1968. Out of necessity, as it is with most bassists, Bob learned the bass (it's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it) and began doing covers of The Byrds, John Prine and Bob Dylan, to name a few. It was in the early 70's that Bob discovered the Philly Folk Festival and began listening to the likes of David Bromberg. It was then that he realized that this genre was his true calling and began putting forth his talent in that direction. As luck would have it, he's now working with David in Angel Band.
Christie Lenée
(guitar)
Energy, intellect, and soul, are words that come to mind when we hear Christie Lenée’s dynamic guitar work. A Tampa native, Christie Lenée studied music composition and jazz guitar at the University of South Florida. She is also well versed in classical, blues, rock, and flamenco guitar styles. She has performed a broad array of festivals and venues on the east coast, and even Taiwan, and has opened for many international artists. While continuing to pursue her career as a composer and singer/songwriter, Christie is thrilled to contribute another harmonic element to the Angel Band.
Jen Schonwald (on hiatus)
(guest vocals)
Jen Schonwald came to Angel Band as a veteran of the Phildelphia folk scene and as singer/guitarist with the popular group "Full Frontal Folk". A gritty and powerful singer, Jen had been performing since the age of twelve and Angel Band offered just the right situation to showcase her wonderfully unique talent.
