We have been overwhelmed with gratitude at the outpouring of the generous support for relief efforts in Haiti. It's been a rare look at how everyone everywhere can come together with a common "best heart". Now the rebuilding begins with a long, tough road ahead. We will remain strong in our commitment to keep raising funds and awareness.
Angel Band has been so fortunate to be able to be in the fray, ask and receive. Our song, Hope is on the Way, has been translated into Kreyol (Haitian Creole) and will be performed by a Haitian high school chorus in Florida as well as a group of kids in Jacmel, Haiti. It is an honor to have our words be part of the rebuilding spirit.
Meanwhile, we are excited to be doing what we do best: sing our hearts out. We start February on a high note at Levon's Midnight Ramble (Congratulations, Levon, on the Grammy win).
The next week we load up and head South (although we've heard accounts of 8" of SNOW in North Carolina!!!!!!!!). We booked this trying desperately to stay out of the way of falling temperatures. Who do we have to talk to about this? On the way back from the last gig we'll be stopping at Vollis Simpson's Whirligig Farm (more on that in the next newsletter). Any Southerners reading this: Alert the troops and come on out. We plan on burning it up despite weather conditions.
Home gigs at a new venue to us (The Record Collector in Jersey), then a home town favorite joint, The Flash in Kennett Square, PA.
We end up on a quick run opening for David's Quartet. These gigs are a guaranteed good time.
Please check out our tour schedule to get particulars on the gigs. We'll catch our breath on the fly and sure hope to see you Angel Band-itos down the road.
Love & Peace,
Angel Band
